Green Lantern (Alan Scott)
Basename:
Green Lantern
Alias:
Golden Age Green Lantern
Brand:
BigKidBrix
Theme:
DC
Biography:
Alan Scott, the Golden Age Green Lantern, debuted in All-American Comics #16 (1940), pre-dating the Green Lantern Corps mythology. He gained his powers from a mystical, sentient green flame that originated from a fallen meteor. The flame foretold that it would grant power to three individuals.
Unlike later Green Lanterns who draw power from Oa and the Green Lantern Corps, Alan Scott's abilities stem from magic. He forged the green flame into a ring that grants him a variety of powers, including flight, energy projection, and the creation of solid constructs. The ring does have a weakness; it is ineffective against wood.
Alan Scott's Green Lantern is a founding member of the Justice Society of America (JSA), a team of Golden Age superheroes. His legacy is significant, establishing the foundation for the Green Lantern name and concept within the DC Universe.
